The Gillespie Museum at Stetson University is home to one of the largest and most scientifically (and historically) important collections of geologic material in the Southeast U.S. Situated on two acres of grounds, the museum is surrounded by the Native Florida Landscape and Volusia Sandhill Ecosystem, a habitat restoration and research project.

The mission of the Gillespie Museum is to foster the study, appreciation, and awareness of the natural sciences, specifically earth and environmental science, throughout Central Florida. The Museum is dedicated to upholding the professional and educational standards of the American Association of Museums.
