Description

In the 1800's the Concordia area was settled by German immigrants to better their lives.  We hope to preserve this knowledge by providing educational opprotunties that enhance the area's understanding and appreciation of its roots and background.

History

In 1984 The Concordia Area Heritage Society was formed. Goal being to endorse and encourage the creation, collection, preservation and promotion of the material cultural and social heritage of our area.

Artifact Collections
Family articles from their ancentors basckground. Local businesses, professional persons, history of local schools and surrounding rural communities. Vintage photographs, clothing, textiles, homemaking items and farming implements.
Research Collections
Family and Church histories. Noted evangilist, Kathryn Kuhlman, a Concordia native, has extensive material donated by the Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation. Plubic school information 1909-1953.
Programs

Demostrations on uses of rug weaving, antique appraisals, antique musical instruments and military memorbilia. Fee amount, contact Concordia Area Heritage Society member.
