Reopened in May 2011 after extensive restoration, the Adam Thoroughgood House has long been the subject of study and debate.

Learn about the house Argall and Susannah Thorowgood built and what makes it so extraordinary. The Adam Thoroughgood House was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960. In 2003 it was acquired by the City of Virginia Beach. It is a Save America’s Treasures site.
