Description

The Charles Harris Library Gallery is a non-profit, self-supporting venue for visual arts located in Wise County Public Library in Wise Virginia. The gallery hosts monthly exhibitions of local, regional and national artists. It is free and open to the public during normal library hours. The exhibit room is 24 feet by 50 feet with three door openings, giving approximately 150 linear feet of wall space and 1200 square feet of floor space for standing displays. The room is lit by directional tract lighting with dimmer switches.

History

Established in 1981 as a memorial to Charles W. Harris, the Library Art Gallery's purpose is to enhance the cultural and creative life of the community by fostering a greater appreciation of the visual arts.
