We are housed in a spacious, Colonial-style building with ample parking and lawns for outside events. Listed by the American Automobile Association as a 'GEM Site,' we offer interesting, educational displays 5 days a week, along with special events such as our annual Civil War Weekend in June, and Old Car Show in July. Special theme displays, guest speakers, and more are routinely scheduled.

The Lincoln Pioneer Village was constructed during the period from 1935 to 1937 with government funds by the Works Projects Administration. This memorial to Abraham Lincoln’s 14 formative years (1816-1830) spent in Spencer County consists primarily of structures and other artifacts which represent the life and times of Lincoln, his pioneer neighbors and friends.

This Greek Revival home is considered to be the "Crown Jewel" of Madison's National Historic Landmark District. Completed in 1844, the house was designed by noted architect Francis Costigan. James F.D. Lanier is one of the most important citizens in the history of Indiana. He helped save the Indiana's finances several times, most notably lending the state over 1 million dollars during the Civil War.
