Our museum houses the collections of many people. There are things which will interest people of all ages. We hope to continue in the spirit of the founder and add to the collection at the Board sees fit. The major projects on agenda for now is up dating the grounds and working on some of the needed repairs. We are also exploring ways to increase attendance

Named one of the ten best museums in Texas by Frommer's Travel Guide, the Museum is home to the largest collection of shells on display in the South with shells from around the world. The Museum also features real life-sized fossilized dinosaur skeletons and other rarely exhibited fossils plus exhibits on wildlife, rocks & minerals and archeology to round out the museum.

Each year, the Museum reaches about 50,000 children and adults with stimulating science programs, exhibits, special events, and affiliated programs such as the Arts Council of the Brazos Valley, Center for the Study of the First Americans and the Texas Cooperative Wildlife Collections. Our programs are available thanks to the support of many individuals, businesses, and other institutions.
